ATMF proudly announces the long-awaited reissue of Mactatus’ Norwegian black metal classic Blot, available once again in CD and LP formats, fully restored and presented in a version that remains faithful to the original spirit, yet enhanced with a renewed visual intensity.
The artwork has been meticulously reimagined and refined by Francesco Gemelli, art director of ATMF, whose skilled touch has brought to life a design that emphasizes the blood motif with even greater expressive force, while preserving the dark majesty that made Blot a milestone of the genre.
Originally released in 1997 through Embassy Productions, Blot stands as one of the most majestic and atmospheric testaments of the Norwegian black metal tradition. With its sweeping keyboards, icy melodies, and an almost ritualistic sense of grandeur, the album evokes the ancient spirit of the North, a sound that resonates deeply with fans of early Satyricon and first-era Emperor, when black metal was still inseparably bound to its homeland’s landscapes and myths.
Blot remains a timeless masterpiece, a bridge between raw fury and epic vision.

one of which led to their historic signing with Napalm Records.
This edition comes as a jewelcase CD with a 16-page booklet, also featuring artwork by Francesco Gemelli, offering a rare glimpse into the raw creative beginnings of one of Norway’s most visionary black metal acts.
Through these releases, ATMF pays tribute to Mactatus’ enduring legacy, evoking the grandeur of the Nordic landscapes and the eternal winters that inspired them.
Further strengthening this connection, ATMF was also honored in 2025 to release Through Veils of Time, the debut album of Mjolne, drummer of Mactatus, a work that expands the band’s mythic aura into new atmospheric realms.
