Prison of Mirrors return with their new mini-album, De Sepulchris Occultis et Igne Profanationis — an offering that sinks its hands into the filth of the sacred and corrupts it with its own blasphemous flame.
A work that is bleak, profound, suffocating, and all-encompassing: a sonic ritual that grants no respite and, like a slow-acting poison, will wound its listeners, consuming both mind and senses.
The new compositions move along the same desolate lines traced by the darkest Blut Aus Nord and Akhlys, yet they retain the feverish, dissolving identity of the band itself: guitars intertwining in vortices of dissonance, rhythms pulsing like subterranean impulses, voices rising from a nameless void.
It is a journey into the core of an abyss with no bottom, where every step drags you deeper, until nothing remains of former memories — only the faint echo of a consciousness undone.
Biography:
Formed in Italy in 2006, Prison of Mirrors is an entity devoted to an introspective and corrosive form of black metal, where sound becomes a means of spiritual annihilation. Their discography is a descent through the abyss of being, the denial of light, and the slow decomposition of the soul.
Throughout years of silence and rebirth, the project has preserved an aura of isolation and mystery, rejecting compromise and following a personal path of purification through chaos.
De Sepulchris Occultis et Igne Profanationis marks the next step on this path toward nothingness — a black flame burning amid the ashes of reason.
A total, sensory, and destructive experience.
The listener is left with no choice but to surrender and drown in the ever-deepening darkness of this engulfing abyss.
